Three reasons why Outlook can become your favorite show
Outlook is probably the email manager's used by companies around the world. Despite the popularity of solutions like Gmail, the truth is that Outlook is still a standard in the office and even produces very little news in technological media, does not mean that for example in its latest version does not have things that do not deserve worth noting. In this practical article we are going to discuss three features that I sure am glad.
That e-mail that never should've sent
Surely you happened on occasion. We are so angry that we get to write furiously, out of tune and even using some appropriate words. When we press the "Send" button are so proud of that e-mail you just sent ... we feel a feeling of such happiness ... because we've managed to put our head in place! And yet there is a feeling that lasts a short time. Maybe ten seconds.
Soon we began to think about what we have done and the terrible consequences that can have. A cold sweat starts down our back and we started thinking that we could not have been more stupid and really want to go home. All this torrent of emotions can help with a simple rule in Outlook.
This will press the option "Manage Rules and Alerts" from the menu Home and will press the option"New Rule." First thing we have to do is point to what we want to apply the rule in the messages we send.
In the next step, we will define what kind of message we want to apply the rule (we can define words, senders, etc.). Default but we can say that we want all outgoing emails to apply. Will press Next.
In the options outlined below, press in the past, saying: "Delay sending for a number of minutes" when you click on this option you can determine the number of minutes out of our e-mail is delayed (we can put for example 5).
In the last step, we can add exceptions to this rule, such as adding email addresses to which you want the message to be sent immediately. From now on every time you send a message, it remains in the output folder for five minutes, time enough to reconsider our decision.
To whom are you sending this e-mail?
Another of the most common problems is the wrong time to send an e-mail. Often the mistake is not it nuetro, but from the Outlook autocomplete. That is, if we want to write a mail to "Raul" , just send it to by "Ramon" writing "Ra" in the recipient field.
To avoid this situation, if you press CTRL + K in the sender field, we will deploy our address book (floating) from which we can select the user who sent the email.
Enables MailTips to protect you from possible errors
MailTips is one of the most interesting options that can enable in Outlook, present only in Office 2013. Which is what enables us to do? It is a little wizard that alerts us when for example we will send an email to a recipient that is actually a group of them, contact us if you send an email to someone outside our company and many other options more.
To enable these quick support we go to Outlook Options, click on the tab Mail, and Mail Tips to scroll up. If we go into this category we can define the conditions on which we want to be notified.
