American justice agrees to sell skyscraper owned by Iran in New York

U.S prosecutors said Thursday plans to sell a skyscraper in Manhattan owned by Iran in the process of confiscation of the most important terrorism-related, with the aim of re-distribution of funds to the families affected by the attacks, accusing Iran of being behind it.

A federal judge agreed on these plans in the latest developments related to the long suit Ibnatahh clouds located on Fifth Avenue in New York. Located skyscraper of 36 storeys in the heart of New York City.

The judge ruled the American Katherine Forrest in favor of the U.S. government in the complaint submitted by the last year, declaring that the owners of the building had violated laws relating to sanctions imposed on Iran, and money laundering.

The plaintiffs, owners Natahh "loft Foundation" - a non-profit association that promotes Islamic culture and the Persian language - and the Foundation "Assa" funds were transferred rents and other money to the bank, "Melli" which is owned by the Republic of Iran.

In addition to the Manhattan skyscraper U.S. authorities also sell properties belonging to Iran in Calfaurnia, Maryland, Texas, Virginia and Queens in New York, along with the confiscation of bank accounts in the names of entities they form the interface to Iran.

The prosecutor said Brett Bharara in Manhattan said in a statement: "With this settlement we get an important step for the completion of what is considered the most important process of expropriation and terrorism-related compensation insurance is important for the victims of terrorism."

He did not specify any date after the sale of real estate. According to the settlement the U.S government will recover all the costs of the lawsuit and the sale of real estate confiscated, that the rest of the money will be distributed to the plaintiffs.
